Communion

Breaking bread together.

Communion is a celebration of God’s provision for us through Jesus Christ. As we partake of the bread which is a symbol for Christ’s body, we are reminded that we too, his people, are the body of Christ. We are united in communion and so should take care that we do not harbor disunity in our hearts as we practice it.

Communion demonstrates our union with God and our unity with one another as we remember and celebrate Christ's giving of himself for us. You do not have to be a member of Springcreek Church to share in our Communion service.

Who can participate?

Communion is for those who have trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior. This means that communion should not be served to small children or to others who do not understand or who have not made a personal decision on their own to follow Christ.

When are the next Communion services in 2018?

Saturday, July 21 from 6:15-7:00pm after service
Saturday, October 20 from 6:15-7:00pm after service

All are welcome. Childcare not provided.

DID YOU KNOW?... Every day, over 800 children under 5 die from diarrhea caused by dirty water, poor sanitation, and unsafe hygiene. But on May 19, you can make a difference by joining World Vision's 6K Walk for Water.

Join us as we not only walk to raise money for clean water but bring our kids along beside us, so they can walk for clean water for other kids around the world!! Raising Globally minded children starts now!

Women's Coffee Talk: "Assessing Joy"

Women's Coffee Talk: "Assessing Joy: Don't be Robbed by “Shouldn’ts”, “Shoulds”, and “Supposed To Be’s”, with Marquita Burke-De Jesus
April 16, 2018, 7:00-8:30pm (doors open at 6:45)
Springcreek Church

About the Speaker:
Marquita Burke-De Jesus is described by friends as a lover of passionate justice, unbridled beauty, and unfiltered sarcasm. She breathed her first breath in sunny Los Angeles, California but spent most of her life in the stickiness of Houston, Texas. She travels extensively speaking on the subject of advocacy, arts, and justice. In 2012, she founded the Silence the Violence campaign, a movement that focuses on abuse education and prevention. When she isn’t writing or speaking, you can find Marquita rehearsing with her dance company or struggling to update her 1940s cottage located in Mckinney’s Historic District with husband Daniel, and daughters Emmy and Elle. Radically Ordinary is her first book.

Women's Spring Retreat

Women's Spring Retreat: Seven Secret Passions of a Woman
April 6-7, 2018 at Springcreek Church
Cost:  $35

Friday, April 6 from 6:00-10:00pm (includes light snacks)
Saturday, April 7 from 8:30am-2:00pm (includes continental breakfast and lunch)

No matter what kind of woman we are, we all want to be a difference-maker, to connect with other women, to know truth, to fill the hole in our hearts, to be beautiful, to have fun & feel alive, and to be loved and cherished by the ultimate Lover. Come explore the ways God offers to fulfill those (not so) secret passions!

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future (Prov. 31:25, NLT).

Guest Speaker: Sue Bohlin

Sue Bohlin has been a professional calligrapher and Christian women's speaker for decades, and enjoys both professions very much. She is happily married to Dr. Ray Bohlin, Vice President of Probe Ministries, and together, they have two grown sons. Sue also never met a cruise ship she didn't like, especially now that God has provided a travel scooter for getting around any ship! When the ship pulls into port, though, Sue always ends up at home in Plano, Texas.

Sue loves teaching women and laughing, and if those two can be combined, all the better. She is a frequent speaker for MOPS and Stonecroft Ministries. Sue is a speaker/writer for Probe Ministries and is also the "webmistress" for Probe.org's 1200+ articles and answers to email (many of which she wrote). This means she's a computer geek and she refuses to apologize for it. Sue also serves on the board of Living Hope Ministries.

Apologetics Class: How to Show God Exists and Jesus Rose

The purpose and nature of apologetics is often misunderstood. Some people think it’s about arguing for the faith. Others think it’s about apologizing. In reality, apologetics simply refers to the defense of what you believe to be true. It is a ministry of helping people with tough questions. Learn how to be prepared to defend your faith.

“Always be ready to make a defense for the hope that is in you." - 1 Pet. 3:15

Join us to learn how!

April 3 - Class 1: Intro to apologetics; strategy; the first cause argument
April 10 - Class 2: Answering: "God would stop suffering!" “and make His existence clearer!"
April 17 - Class 3: The fine-tuning of physics argument and the moral argument
April 24 - Class 4: How to show Jesus rose from the dead

Imani Bridges Camera Drive

Got a camera you thought you'd use more than you have? Consider donating it and change the life of someone eager to put it to use in Nigeria. Opportunities abound for creative people with video training in the local churches and marketplace but the equipment is greatly needed.

Pastor Scott Harper will be leading a Videography vocational training session in Badagry, Nigeria in March. Video-capable DSLR or mirrorless cameras with battery, charger and accessories are needed.

Please consider giving your video-capable cameras and accessories to a good cause. Bring your donations to Springcreek no later than Sunday, March 4, 2018.

Questions? Contact Scott Harper for more information.

Family Feud Dinner

Are you ready to watch our teams play the feud? Are you ready to meet our very own Steve O’Marvey? How about an evening full of fun and laughter?  Then invite your friends and family and join us for an amazing evening for a great cause – sending our high school students on mission!

On Sunday, March 11, our high school students will be traveling to Jackson, Mississippi, where they will serve with Kaleo Missions throughout the week.  All the proceeds of the Feud will help offset student costs.

Dinner will be catered by The Gracefull Table.  You’ll enjoy their savory family recipe of Beef Lasagne or Chicken Pesto Pasta, Artisan Bread, Salad Bar and Dessert. Students raising money for the mission trip will personally serve you and take care of you during the evening. Feel free to bring a little extra cash for the “tip jars”.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR DINNER IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9 at NOON... DON'T WAIT!
