EASTER SERIES

JESUS RUINS FUNERALS

Part 4: The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024
Senior Pastor Keith Stewart

All month long we’ve been looking at the resurrection miracles in the gospels culminating on Easter with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. More than anything, this message will help you see why the resurrection matters, what it means for us today and how hope for true transformation is possible because of what happened on Easter Sunday morning. This is a message that can change your life.

March 10 – The Resurrection of the Widow’s Son

March 17 – The Resurrection of Jairus’ Daughter

March 24 – The Resurrection of Lazarus

March 31 – The Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Easter Sunday)

LAST WEEKEND

The Resurrection of Lazarus

Senior Pastor Keith Stewart
Palm Sunday, March 24, 2024

Leading up to Easter, we’ve been looking at the resurrection miracles in the gospels. There is actually a progression in these miracles that seems quite intentional. In the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter, she was raised from the dead shortly after she had died but was still in the home. The son of the widow of Nain experienced his miracle while his body was being carried to the cemetery for burial. Then in this week’s message, Lazarus is raised from the dead after having been placed in the tomb and decay had already set in. Yet in each circumstance, Jesus demonstrates that death is no match for Him. Even more importantly, each miracle speaks powerfully as to what Christ will accomplish in His death and resurrection. Don’t miss this next installment in Jesus Ruins Funerals.

Jesus Ruins Funerals

Losing a loved one is stressful enough then planning the funeral of a loved one adds even more stress. I love Jesus but He sure knows how to mess up a funeral. Think about it. You’ve paid the funeral home. Bought the cemetery plot and casket. You’ve invited all the guests then Jesus shows up and wrecks the whole plan in a wonderfully glorious way. In the days leading up to Easter, we’re going to spend some time examining how Jesus responds to death. This is a series full of hope about what Jesus will one day do for all of us, too.

Hidden in Plain Sight

There are stories with which we are fairly familiar that have a depth a meaning we often overlook. These Old Testament stories contain what are often referred to as types and shadows of greater realities yet to come. During this season of Lent, we went to fix our attention on a couple of these well-known stories to see a deeper message hidden within. Their message helps us not only to see the amazing continuity of the story God has been telling for all time but also prepares our heart for the coming of Christ.

All the Church Wants is Money

Some things said in church about money should never be said like scolding or guilting people for not giving enough. Or pastors living extravagant lifestyles, wearing designer suits, expensive watches and outrageously expensive tennis shoes (yes, that’s a thing) but asking those with barely nothing to give their everything. We’ve all seen it. Hate it. And want nothing to do with it. At the same time, it’s important to acknowledge the abusive money messages churches can send and to practice discernment in regards to how we give and to whom we give. That’s what this new series will equip you to do.
