Hallmark movies have become practically synonymous with sappy storylines, cliché answers to complex problems and “happily ever after” endings. Our lives are anything but that. But during the holidays, especially at Christmas, we get drawn into the nostalgia and sentimentality of the season and as a result set unrealistic expectations for what this time of the year will be. In this series, we’ll rediscover how the true meaning of Christmas speaks into our less than perfect world and relationships. Christmas is the birth of hope in an imperfect world.

In the midst of all the tinsel, lights and wrapping paper, the central truth of the Christmas story often gets lost. Far greater than any gift under the tree is the idea that God gave us His greatest gift - He gave us Himself. Somehow and in some way, the Infinite became finite. He Who is spirit took on human flesh. He Whom the universe cannot contain confined Himself to human body and lived among us. Theologians call it the miracle of the incarnation and it’s that miracle that lies at the heart of the Christmas story. At Christmas we celebrate God come to live among us and in this message, we’ll discover the reason why.

Gather with us on Christmas Eve morning for a very special message and participate in communion together, in-person or online.

The Advent season is a four-week period before Christmas that celebrates the anticipation and coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Join us daily to reflect and prepare our hearts through the Advent season with a daily verse and activity for you and your family!

You can help support our local community and outreach partners throughout this Advent season of reflection and generosity. Make a difference. Join us as we Go and Be the Church!

HOPE (Week 1) - Hope Clinic is collecting coats for kids that are between the ages of 6-10. Bring your donations to the church; we’ll collect them in the lobby. (Please do not put them in the Trusted World bins.) HOPE ACTIVITY CARD

PEACE (Week 2) - Donate jars of peanut butter to our ministry partner. Good Samaritans of Garland (goodsamofgarland.org) has a list of other needs as well. You can also find their wish list on Amazon.

JOY (Week 3) - Partner with Trusted World. Clean out closets and toy bins this week. Donate gently used items to Trusted World. Bins are in the lobby.

LOVE (Week 4) - Donate $5 or $10 gift cards to our ministry partner, Grace Dental. They operate with a team of volunteers and would like to bless them with gift cards for eateries like pizza, breakfast, finger foods, baked goods, etc.
